Wildlife

Colombia is a highly diverse country, with a large number of species of flora and fauna. It is number one in terms of number of bird species and orchids in the world, second in terms of amphibians, fishes and butterflies, and third in number of reptiles and palms. It has more than 1880 species of birds, of which 66 are endemic to the country. It also has more than 3500 species of freshwater and saltwater fish and more than 1500 type of orchids.

Colombia, thanks to its geographical position, has five ecological regions: The basin of the Caribbean, the Pacific region, the Amazon region, the Andean Region and the plain of the Orinoco. Its beautiful landscapes range from mountainous glaciers to beautiful Caribbean beaches. You cannot lose the opportunity to get to know the natural beauty of Colombia.
